Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha<\/strong> today participated in the Purple Fest 2025<\/strong> at Raj Bhawan<\/strong>, an event dedicated to fostering awareness, inclusion, and empowerment<\/strong> for Divyangjan<\/strong> (persons with disabilities).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commitment to Inclusion and Empowerment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In his address, LG Sinha<\/strong> praised the resilience and talent<\/strong> of Divyangjan and reaffirmed his commitment to making Jammu & Kashmir more accessible and inclusive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have worked with dedication for the empowerment of Divyangjan. Over the past few years, major initiatives have been undertaken to ensure their dignity, rights, and well-being<\/strong>. I am fully committed to their integration into social, economic, and cultural life<\/strong>,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government Initiatives for Divyangjan<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The LG outlined several key measures taken by the government to create a supportive and enabling environment<\/strong> for Divyangjan. He emphasized the importance of equal opportunities<\/strong> and highlighted the reforms introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong> to ensure that both public and private establishments<\/strong> follow policies addressing the challenges faced by Divyangjan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDivyangjan have immense potential<\/strong> to achieve extraordinary success. They are gifted individuals<\/strong> who bring positive change to society. They are not seeking welfare but rather their constitutional rights<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education & Skill Development for Divyangjan<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Emphasizing the crucial role of education<\/strong>, the LG urged civil society organizations and stakeholders<\/strong> to support the education of Divyangjan in an inclusive setting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEducation is the most powerful tool for employment and progress<\/strong>. Additionally, skilling<\/strong> is essential to help them achieve self-reliance<\/strong>. A multi-faceted skilling approach<\/strong> and collaborative efforts will ensure that Divyangjan can fully realize their potential<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LG also commended Para-Archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar<\/strong>, recognizing their inspiring journeys and determination<\/strong> as a source of motivation<\/strong> for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call for 100% Unique ID Card Saturation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Stressing the need for better identification of beneficiaries<\/strong>, LG Sinha directed officials from the Social Welfare Department<\/strong> to ensure 100% saturation of Unique ID Cards<\/strong> for Divyangjan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe J&K Government has already requested the Government of India<\/strong> to organize two mega camps<\/strong> for Divyangjan\u2014one each in Jammu and Kashmir Division<\/strong>,\u201d he announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural Performances & Felicitations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The event featured cultural performances and martial arts demonstrations<\/strong> by children from Composite Regional Centre Jammu, Directorate of Social Welfare, and other organizations<\/strong>. The Lieutenant Governor was also presented with the Mata Ki Chunni of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi<\/strong> along with handmade flower pots and bouquets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
