{"id":1564,"date":"2025-04-08T04:24:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T04:24:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/duggarsamvad.in\/?p=1564"},"modified":"2025-04-08T04:24:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T04:24:54","slug":"%f0%9f%97%9e%ef%b8%8f-jk-govt-reaffirms-strong-push-for-tourism-growth-%e2%82%b9305-cr-allocated-in-two-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duggarsamvad.in\/?p=1564","title":{"rendered":"\ud83d\uddde\ufe0f J&amp;K Govt Reaffirms Strong Push for Tourism Growth: \u20b9305 Cr Allocated in Two Years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief Minister <strong>Omar Abdullah<\/strong> on Monday reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir Government\u2019s unwavering commitment to strengthening the <strong>tourism sector<\/strong> across the Union Territory, highlighting significant investments and development initiatives aimed at boosting both <strong>domestic and international tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responding to a question raised by <strong>BJP Legislator Chander Prakash Ganga<\/strong> in the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister disclosed that a total of <strong>\u20b9305 crore<\/strong> had been allocated over the past two fiscal years \u2014 <strong>\u20b9118 crore for Jammu division<\/strong> and <strong>\u20b9187 crore for Kashmir division<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udde8\ufe0f <em>\u201cThese allocations are part of our strategic plan to upgrade infrastructure, improve facilities, and unlock the immense tourism potential of the UT,\u201d<\/em> Abdullah said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcb0 <strong>Breakdown of Tourism Fund Allocation<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Jammu Division:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u20b956.85 crore in <strong>2022\u201323<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u20b961.05 crore in <strong>2023\u201324<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kashmir Division:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u20b992.10 crore in <strong>2022\u201323<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u20b995.27 crore in <strong>2023\u201324<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd4c <strong>Religious Tourism Circuits See Major Push<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlighting the Government\u2019s thrust on <strong>religious tourism<\/strong>, Abdullah outlined key projects under development in <strong>Purmandal, Utterbehni, Surinsar<\/strong>, and <strong>Mansar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Projects worth <strong>\u20b929.58 crore<\/strong> have been initiated under the <strong>State Capex Budget<\/strong>, with <strong>\u20b916.07 crore<\/strong> allocated in <strong>2024\u201325<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An additional <strong>\u20b91.17 crore<\/strong> has been earmarked for upgrades and repairs of existing circuits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further, a <strong>\u20b935.77 crore proposal<\/strong> has been submitted to the <strong>Ministry of Tourism (GoI)<\/strong> for funding under the <strong>PRASAD scheme<\/strong> to enhance <strong>Utterbehni and Purmandal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udde8\ufe0f <em>\u201cReligious circuits are gaining momentum. We\u2019re committed to transforming these sites into vibrant pilgrimage destinations,\u201d<\/em> the Chief Minister noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf3f <strong>Focus on Scenic Destinations: Doodpathri &amp; Tosamaidan<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responding to a separate query from <strong>National Conference Legislator Saif-u-Din Bhat<\/strong>, the Chief Minister said <strong>Master Plans for Doodpathri and Tosamaidan<\/strong> are currently under review and formulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, new <strong>food courts and kiosks<\/strong> have been constructed at <strong>Doodpathri<\/strong>, enhancing the visitor experience. While <strong>Yatri Niwas<\/strong> (pilgrim accommodations) have not yet been established at Doodpathri, Raithan, Raiyar, and Tosamaidan, <strong>temporary accommodations<\/strong> by the Development Authority are in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf04 <strong>Adventure &amp; Cross-Border Heritage Tourism on the Radar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdullah also emphasized the potential of <strong>nature tourism, adventure tourism, and cross-border heritage tourism<\/strong> in these picturesque regions, which are known for their <strong>lush meadows, serene landscapes, and cultural richness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcc8 <strong>Events Driving Growth<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief Minister noted that events like the <strong>Border Festival<\/strong> and <strong>Yoga Festival<\/strong> have begun to attract tourists from across India, benefiting local communities and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udde8\ufe0f <em>\u201cOur initiatives are showing results. Tourism is on the rise, and the local population is reaping its benefits.
