Union Home Minister Amit Shah<\/strong> reaffirmed India\u2019s firm stance on Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK)<\/strong>, declaring that the region is an integral part of India\u2014both historically and legally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at a national news summit in the capital, Shah stated, \u201cPoJK is not just a claim; it\u2019s our belief, backed by historical documents and legal standing.\u201d<\/em> He cited the 1994 unanimous resolution of the Indian Parliament<\/strong>, which asserts that PoJK is an inseparable part of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slamming Pakistan, Shah said, \u201cThey cannot handle separatism in Balochistan or militancy in their own country. Instead of looking at India, they should address their internal crises.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balochistan has been the epicenter of separatist insurgency for decades, with militant groups such as the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)<\/strong> accusing Islamabad of exploiting the province\u2019s natural resources while denying locals any benefits. The Home Minister made it clear, however, that India is not involved in the Balochistan movement<\/strong>, stating, \u201cProvinces in Pakistan are disillusioned with the central government\u2019s functioning, but India is not fuelling the fire.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent March siege by the BLA<\/strong>, which left around 60 people dead, highlighted Pakistan\u2019s deepening internal turmoil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to his recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir from April 6\u20138<\/strong>, Shah said his meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah<\/strong> was \u201ccordial\u201d and focused on governance and development<\/strong>. He reiterated the Central Government\u2019s commitment to supporting regional governments without bias<\/strong>, adding, \u201cWe are committed to working with J&K\u2019s elected leadership.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shah also chaired high-level meetings with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha<\/strong> and top officials of various security agencies<\/strong>, reviewing the progress of development projects and security measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issuing a stern warning to terrorists<\/strong>, Shah said that national security<\/strong> is non-negotiable. \u201cWe will not compromise, nor will we allow anyone else to compromise our national interests,\u201d<\/em> he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the recent terror attack in Kathua district<\/strong>, the Home Minister confirmed that the infiltration was backed by Pakistan. On March 27, two Pakistani terrorists<\/strong> were killed and four Indian policemen martyred<\/strong> during a fierce gunfight in the Safiyan Jakhole area<\/strong>. The infiltrators reportedly crossed from Pakistan\u2019s International Border<\/strong> and were part of a freshly inducted group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur forces are vigilant. Anyone involved in such acts will face dire consequences,\u201d Shah asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to a question about recent rallies in Nepal<\/strong> advocating for a return to monarchy and a Hindu Rashtra<\/strong>, Shah maintained a neutral stance. \u201cNepal is a democracy, and people have the right to express their opinions,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rallies, led by former Maoist leader Durga Prasai<\/strong>, have sparked political debate in the Himalayan nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
