Authorities enforced the curfew initially on Wednesday evening after protests erupted, claiming four lives and leaving over ninety injured. The protests initiated by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) focus on demands for statehood and the incorporation of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ongoing curfew, conditions in Ladakh stayed relatively placid.
