Lauding the unmatched courage and dedication of the Indian armed forces, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday said the successful execution of Operation Sindoor was not just a military achievement, but a tribute to the feminine spirit and the sacrifices made by the families of soldiers.
Birla was speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’—a nationwide outreach initiative launched to honour the bravery of India’s defence personnel. The event took place in Bundi and witnessed the participation of thousands of citizens, including former Rajasthan minister Prabhu Lal Saini and Bundi district BJP president Rameshwar Meena.
“In recent days, a wave of patriotism has surged in the heart of every Indian. The valour displayed during Operation Sindoor will be remembered forever,” said Birla. “It is vital to understand that the triumph of our soldiers is also the triumph of every mother, sister, and daughter of this nation.”
He highlighted the symbolic importance of the operation’s name, saying:
“More than a military manoeuvre, Operation Sindoor was a solemn vow—to safeguard the ‘sindoor’ of every woman whose husband protects the nation’s borders and its Tricolour.”
The Tiranga Yatra began from Azad Park and passed through key locations including Kota Road, Nagar-Sarag Kund, Indira Market, Ahimsa Circle, Khoja Gate, and Gayatri Nagar, concluding at the Shaheed Ramkalyan Memorial on Civil Lines Road.
Speaking briefly to PTI Videos, Birla added, “Operation Sindoor was India’s decisive strike against terrorism. Our fight will not end until terrorism is wiped out completely.”
The yatra aims to stir national pride and pay homage to the sacrifices of the armed forces, reinforcing the commitment to a united and secure India.
