A Pakistani intruder was arrested along the International Border in the R S Pura sector of Jammu on Thursday, October 5, 2023, according to officials from the Border Security Force (BSF).
This recent apprehension marks the second arrest of a Pakistani national in this sector within just a month, underscoring ongoing infiltration attempts into Indian territory.
BSF personnel, alert to suspicious movements near the border, noticed an individual attempting to cross into Indian territory. The vigilant troops swiftly intercepted and overpowered the intruder shortly after he entered the region.
Officials reported that no incriminating materials were recovered from the suspect, who is currently undergoing interrogation by combined security teams. These teams include personnel from various agencies that are collaborating to investigate the circumstances surrounding the intrusion.
The recent arrest follows another incident earlier this month, on September 8, when Siraj Khan, a Pakistani national from Sargodha in Punjab, was apprehended near the Octroi area in R S Pura. In that incident, BSF troops fired warning shots after challenging Khan, who was found carrying Pakistani currency notes at the time of his apprehension.
